Resources

The following is a list of resources that may come in handy as you try to make sense of the botanical world of the Teton Valley (and beyond):

Web sites

Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve – In Grand Teton National Park, a wonderful place to hike and botanize. There is a very high degree of overlap of species in Teton Valley and LSRP/

iNaturalist – a wonderful resource for “instant” identification from a cell phone photo, in the field or at home. Works better sometimes than others but has been a great resource for this site.

Idaho Mountain Wildflowers (the web version or Earle and Lundin’s book)

Idaho noxious weeds list (with photos; not all occur in Teton County or are noxious here)

Weed Science Society of America (WSSA) weed list (with photos)

Native Plants of North America at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center

US Forest Service – Celebrating Wildflowers

USDA Fire Effects Information System (FEIS) – if the species is here, the amount of information on it is outstanding

Naturegate – this is a Finnish site but a fun place to look for things about circumboreal plants that are found in Idaho.

Wyoming Native Plants Society – especially good blog articles
